Open days
There’s no better way to explore our school, meet some of our staff and of course, see our children in action, than at one of our Open Days. If you get a great feeling, that’s a big tick in the box and a great place to start when picking the right school for your child.

We'd love to welcome you to our school. We normally offer at least one Open Day each term. Our upcoming Open Days are:
Spring Term Open Days
Friday 15 March 10.00am - 12.00pm : School in action tour
Monday 18 March 5.30pm - 7.00pm : Staff tour
Alternatively, if you'd like to see the school sooner, or you're not able to make our next Open dates, you can request a personal tour at a time to suit you.

Friday Open Day – School in action
Friday 15 March: 10.00am - 12.00pm
If you want to be a fly on the wall to get a snapshot of real daily life at The Downs, this is your chance. You’ll have a student guide on hand to show you a wide range of activities and lessons taking place. You’ll see teachers in their natural habitats and have the chance to ask plenty of probing questions!
At the end of your visit, you’ll get to have a cup of tea with our senior leadership team. They can offer insight into the future vision of our school or discuss anything still on your mind.
Monday evening Open Day – Staff tour
Monday 18 March: 5.30pm-7.00pm
A slightly quieter option to our Friday Open Day, this is an unhurried way to take a look behind the scenes. An experienced member of our teaching staff will show you around and answer questions. There’s a good chance there will be some after school clubs in progress so you’ll get a feel for the energy around that. And if they’re free, some of our Year 8 students might even pop up to have a chat.
As with the Friday tour, this one ends over refreshments and conversation with our senior leadership team. You might even get a taste of our famous tea-time tiffin treats (that’s quite a mouthful)!
Booking is simple…
Just complete the form and select which date you'd like to come. We’ll be in touch to confirm details and supply you with all the information you need. Children are welcome to attend with you, or not, it’s 100% up to you.
If there’s not an Open Day which fits with your calendar, please select the 'Personal Tour' option on the form.
If you’d like to see our nursery & pre-school on the same day, we can easily arrange this. Just let us know on the booking form.
