Performing Arts
There’s so much more to Performing Arts than meets the eye. Technical, design and engineering skills can all be framed through this exciting subject.
A real world view
Bringing it all together
As well as music, drama and dance we now encourage children to explore all aspects of performance such as sound engineering, set design and marketing. Producing breath-taking performances becomes a truly collaborative process with all departments working together under one umbrella.
Our timetable
Performing Arts in practice
From Reception to Year 8, children have weekly Performing Arts lessons. For Pre-Prep, sessions support class topics, exploring history, geography and even maths through song, dance and drama. For older children, script writing, concepting and improvisation are all on the menu.
Skills for life
Developing workplace skills
At Prep school level, aspects of technical production such as set, costume and audio-visual design are integrated. Pupils take on challenges like working with green screens and video editing as well as the subtle art of good promotional skills through PR and communication.
