Representing The Downs with pride, all the children are expected to look smart in their school uniform wherever they may be.
Uniform supplier
Purchasing new uniform
Our uniform provider is Schoolblazer. They have a simple online ordering system, with guidance on sizing and a name taping service and free returns. Our new uniform is mandatory from September 2025.
Our second-hand shop
Buying pre-loved uniform
Our popular pre-loved uniform shop at The Downs is run by parent volunteers from the Downs School Association. It’s well stocked and we’re sure you’ll be able to find most items you need, so do get in touch to arrange a time to browse items and try things on.

Uniform expectation
We want everyone to look the part so we ask all children attending The Downs to wear our school uniform.
Summer uniform is worn throughout the Summer term and from the start of the Autumn term until the half-term break in October.
When the children are in school uniform it is important that they look smart and tidy because they are representing the school. School blazers should be worn to and from school each day.
Dress smart for events
When participating in school concerts and other formal events, all the children are expected to wear formal uniform. The school will always communicate when formal uniform is required, so don't worry!
Non-uniform days
There are a few days throughout the year when children can come to school without uniform. We’ll keep you posted when a non-uniform day has been scheduled.
